The Impact of COVID-19
Speaking on how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted him and Kiran Smart, Mohammed stated that the company had to be revamped following the pandemic as he learned a lot of invaluable lessons during this time. The manner in which businesses dealt with their customers, their employees, and having to work from different workspaces while still communicating effectively were some things that the whole team had to get better at by experience.
The main adjustment for Mohammed and his team was to operate from a digital mode only and interact with their clients in this manner. This was a challenge as clients may not feel as comfortable in online meetings and the element of personal touch will be lifted. The team also faced an additional challenge of having to relocate key members of their team to locations where they could work effectively and also stay in close proximity to their families. Mohammed’s concerns for his employee’s safety and mental well-being were reflected during this time when he made sure that the employees went to locations where they felt comfortable working.
The organization had to adjust their robots as well but due to the robots, the company was able to become extremely efficient in terms of operating costs and were able to save a lot of money.
